DEVELOPMENT OF PROCEDURES TO DETERMINE PHOSPHATES IN MEDICATED REMINERALIZING FILMS

To simulate the properties of saliva in remineralizing agents is a new area in enamel remineralization therapy. The composition of medicated films has been designed for active enamel remineralization. Optimal procedures have been proposed for the qualitative and quantitative determination of disubstituted potassium phosphate that is one of the major mineral components of medicated remineralizing films. The latter contributes to the enhanced buffering capacity of saliva and takes an active part in an exchange between saliva and enamel. A photoelectric colorimetric assay is recommended for the qualitative determination of potassium phosphate as a component of the films.
