ELABORATION OF SIMULATION MODELS FOR ASSESSING THE QUALITY OF SPRAYING OF THE XYLOMETAZOLINE HYDROCHLORIDE FORMULATION «METERED-DOSE NASAL SPRAY»

The clinical efficacy of the same dosage form of the same drug substance at an equal concentration depends on the quality of spraying. Working models simulating and visualizing nasal cavity irrigation with a metered-dose nasal spray were elaborated. Twenty-two preparations of the xylometazoline hydrochloride formulations «metered-dose nasal spray» made by different manufacturers were comparatively analyzed from their uniformity and reproducibility of dose mass and the quality of spraying. The optimal uniformity of the operation of a dosing device, which ensures the best reproducibility of dose mass and the drop-by-drop type of spraying, has been shown to be achieved in all preparations of a group of xymelin and in otrivine methol nasal spray.
