PHARMACOECONOMIC MANAGEMENT OF THE QUALITY OF DRUG CARE TO PATIENTS

The efficiency of a health care system at all stages of medical and drug care to the population is determined by the availability of drugs and by the quality of pharmaceutical care as a whole. At the present stage, there is a need for not only pharmacoeconomic studies at different levels of care to patients, but also the application of pharmacoeconomics when making management decision. The results of the sociological study conducted in a number of the therapeutic-and-prophylactic institutions of Moscow and its region to solve pharmacoeconomic problems have shown that there is demand for a pharmacoeconomics manager in a hospital staff. The authors have developed a conceptual model for the effective mechanism of pharmacoeconomic management of the provision of drugs for patients in inpatient settings, an algorithm and model for training the pharmacoeconomics manager within the framework of pre- and postgraduate education, an educational module, and a job description.
