The paper considers the structures of general pharmacopeial articles for the State Pharmacopeia of the Russian Federation, 13th Edition, which include general requirements for the analysis of some morphological groups of raw medicinal plant materials: leaves, herb, bark, underground organs, as well as the determination of identity, granulation, and contents of impurities in the raw material. The articles have been drawn up in accordance with the current ideas on the standardization or quality control of raw medicinal plant materials. Requirements for assaying the identity of the raw material are proposed as algorithms considering the sequence of analysis of the morphological and anatomic diagnostic signs that are individually inherent in each morphological group of the raw material; specified and new signs are included in the descriptions.
