THE COMPOSITION OF AMARYLLIS ALKALOIDS OF WORONOW’S SNOWDROP (GALANTHUS WORONOWII) AND COMMON SNOWDROP (GALANTHUS NIVALIS)

Woronow’s snowdrop (Galanthus woronowii Losinsk.) and common snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis L.) are characterized by their rich component composition of biologically active compounds, which shows a preponderance of amaryllis alkaloids of different chemical structure (the types of galantamine, lycorine, homolycorine, tyramine, narciclasine, hemantamine, and tacettine). Current physicochemical studies, such as gas chromatography mass spectrometry and others, enable amaryllis alkaloids of the snowdrops to be more completely characterized. The component composition and quantitative content of amaryllis alkaloids are important indicators that should be borne in mind while standardizing the raw homeopathic medicinal plant material, homeopathic matrix tinctures of two snowdrop species and their based homeopathic remedies.
