Disposable medical antiseptic wipes soaked in various alcohols and packed in individually sealed sachets have currently found wide application. However, alcohols and alcohol-containing solutions used to impregnate have different properties. The paper gives the results of a comparative analysis of the toxic properties of ethyl, isopropyl, isobutyl, amyl, and isoamyl alcohols, as well as fusel oils and moonshine, which are used to impregnate disposable wipes. LD40 determination in rat experiments has shown that ethanol is least toxic and fusel oil and amyl alcohol are most toxic. The daily multiple use of antiseptic wipes impregnated with isopropyl alcohol can cause side effects. Disposable wipes impregnated with 70% ethanol are the best medical product for sanitation, processing and preparation of injection and operating fields.
